The IRM company is located in Vendée and in 2002 took over a former industrial site located in Lesquin in the Nord department. This is the company's fourth factory, and its main function is to manufacture the largest residential model in the range, the Emeraude (11 x 4 m). The Emeraude is a genuine small house with its four-slope roof , and special care is taken with it: thus production takes twice as long for this residential model as for a rental home. The Emeraude has forty different furniture elements, compared with seventeen for a standard model intended for rental: the insulation is also reinforced and assembly of the four-slope roof is more complex.
The Lesquin factory produces five Emeraude holiday homes, or eight Rubis type residential versions or ten holiday homes for rental, each day. The ninety workers in the factory work in different trades, including metallurgy, joinery, plumbing, electricity. There is no robotization in the holiday home industry, manual operations require experience and knowledge of the materials.
