What is a holiday home ?
According to Afnor standard 56-410, the leisure holiday home is :
• A leisure vehicle (= has wheels!), and is habitable and transportable.
• Intended for temporary or seasonal occupancy, does not satisfy construction requirements (=therefore it is not a house with permanent construction, has no ten-year guarantee, etc.).
The holiday home must satisfy the following, otherwise it will lose its status as a holiday home :
• It must remain permanently mobile (= wheels, traction bar)
• It must be easy to remove it from its site from one of its four sides (no “hard” installation such as a concrete terrace, boundary walls, etc.). |

Where to install a holiday home ?
Holiday homes must always be placed on a campsite or Leisure Residential Park (P.R.L.) (Decree No. 2007-18 January 5 2007). No administrative authorization is necessary for installation on specially equipped sites. Anywhere else but on these sites, the authorities might requalify your holiday home under a different legal status, or even simply prohibit its installation. IRM approved distributors can advise you and suggest the best position on the different campsites or Leisure Residential Parks in their region. |

What size holiday home to choose ?
The size depends on the size of your pitch. The holiday home and its annexes must not occupy more than 30% of the area of your pitch in France. This catalogue gives you the ground occupancy areas for each model.

How much for transport, stabilisation and connection ?
Your holiday home must necessarily be transported as a wide load. Therefore, this is a relatively expensive operation, and its amount can vary considerably depending on the distance to be traveled from the manufacturing plant (about 4 to 5€ per kilometer depending on the type of wide load, plus a loading and unloading fee). The cost of installation (stabilisation, connections) varies between 500 and 2000€ depending on site access (excluding preparation, installation of utilities or major restoration of the pitch). Therefore, considering all these «budget items», it is better to prefer «all included, delivered and installed» purchase solutions. |

What budget should be allowed ?
Your purchase budget is composed of 4 main key elements :
> Purchase of your holiday home itself (more or less large, with more or less equipment, etc.),
> Transport by wide load from the factory to the campsite,
> Installation costs on your pitch, including stabilisation and connection,
> Annual rental of your site,
Prices of these elements vary from one campsite to another (quality, facilities, distance from the sea, etc.). Therefore you have to choose your own campsite or ask for advice from an IRM distributor. |
